Summary

With over 8 years of dedicated experience in community service and the third sector, I am well-equipped to assume leadership roles within any organization. My motivation, coupled with a robust history of leadership, enables me to excel even in high-pressure environments while fostering effective teamwork.

My background encompasses a broad spectrum of skills, including expertise in service learning, community outreach, and leadership development. Public speaking is a strength I leverage to engage and inspire diverse audiences. Moreover, I have a demonstrated proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher for efficient documentation and presentation.

In addition to my technical skills, I possess a strong online presence, leveraging social networking platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to connect with and mobilize communities.

Furthermore, my language skills are an asset, with native competence in Spanish, professional competence in English, and basic/elementary proficiency in French. This linguistic diversity allows me to communicate effectively across a wide range of contexts and audiences.

Lastly, my experience extends into the areas of health data management, diversity equity and inclusion, and CRM utilization, while I have also been recognized as a corporate award recipient, underlining my commitment to excellence in the corporate world.

Work experience
Early Intervention Specialist, Alliance for Living
August 2017- October 2019
 

1. Provided clients with a comprehensive explanation of HIV, AIDS and STD’s and its implications via the program’s policies and procedures. 

2. Obtained and maintained certification to conduct HIV rapid tests. 

3. Completed an accurate risk assessment with the client and thoroughly explained the implications of risk behaviors in regards to HIV infection. 

4. Provided emotional support, counseling, crisis intervention, and advocacy for clients throughout the process of testing for HIV infection.

5. Provided PrEP information and refferals.  

6. Provided client with all aspects of post-test counseling, including but not limited to: actual test results, direct referrals, counseling and emotional support.  

7. Refereed all clients testing HIV positive and those at high risk for HIV infection for proper medical care follow-up as delineated by the program. 

8. Maintained accurate up to date client records and submitted proper documentation to Program Supervisor. 

 9. Submitted statistical/narrative reports as required to the Program Supervisor for review. 

10. Regularly attend and actively participated in staff meetings and staff training sessions. 

11. Promptly reported to Program Supervisor any incidents, or conflicts with the clients, or difficulties in accessing clients to resources. 

12. Advocated and interpreted for clients as needed. 

13. Responsible for conducting outreach with the entire team. This includes, but not limited to; Canvassing multicultural neighborhoods, bars, housing projects, clubs, dance halls, churches, welfare offices, etc., to inform high-risk individuals about HIV/AIDS and STI prevention and available services.  

14. Kept abreast of all updated HIV/AIDS and STD information and attended all mandated trainings. 

15. Complied with all confidentiality regulations and universal precautions for health care workers. 

16. Properly stored and disposed of all bio-hazardous materials as dictated by Connecticut Health Department.

Youth Organizer F.R.E.S.H New London

As the FRESH Youth Organizer I coordinated and facilitated the FRESH youth programming that educates, trains, engages and empowers youth as part of the organizations mission driven food work. FRESH programs teach young people to build work, life and leadership skills and to use these skills to be part of making trans formative change in our local food system and our communities. I am dedicated to the development and implementation of experiential education that engages youth in the “how and why” of FRESH New London’s mission and connecting youth to food system change opportunities in the community. 

Primarily responsible for connecting youth to the practical agricultural and community work of building a just food system, educating each other and the general public about issues and opportunities within the local food movement and being advocates and ambassadors of a better food system in our community.

Implemented a Student Support Program on campus directed at
students who are confronting financial limitations that may hinder their possibilities for
completing an academic degree by providing assistance with access to food and
personal items, lodging, work opportunities, improving life and work skills.

 

Replenishment. Bath & Body Works.

​2014-2016

 

As a replenishment associate I was responsible for ensuring proper maintenance of store inventory. This included replenishing items that have sold out on the sales floor and clearly marking price changes on items. Also as a replenishment associate I spent much of my work time working in the backroom of the store, receiving and processing items as they arrived and preparing them for the sales floor. This included performing tasks like putting security tags on merchandise and verifying that the correct number of items arrived in each shipment. I also created with other associate product displays to promote store sales, promotions and special product offerings.

 

Community Organizer. Hearing Youth Voices.
